Art Galleries
CCD team members have been involved in the security design for major Art Galleries since 1976, with the most recent project being the Qatar Museum of Islamic Art, being completed in 2009.  The projects undertaken include the following:

The Art Gallery of Western Australia*
Kerran undertook the security design for the new Art Gallery of
Western Australia.  The commission was originally for the electrical and illumination consultancy for the project.  This was later extended to include all of the security design, after the Western Australian Government arranged a tour of the then Art Galleries of South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales.  The electrical and associated services which included a threat assessment, including the review of security planning, the physical security design and the design of the security technology.  The project won an Institution of Engineers Engineering award for the project design.
Auckland City Art Gallery*
Kerran was commissioned to undertake a thorough Audit of the Auckland City Art Gallery.  The commission commenced with a full risk/threat assessment and the implication of any attack upon the galleries prized indigenous assets, including the famed Goldie collection.

The audit covered all aspects of the facilities physical security, the applied security technologies and the methodology of security management of the facility.  The project was undertaken and the resultant audit report utilised to upgrade the security of the facility.

Subsequent to the upgrade, Kerran undertook the development of a security training program for gallery security staff, which was delivered to raise their skills in security operations and management.

Qatar Museum of Islamic Art
Recently Brad Campbell, whilst resident in Dubai, was recruited to undertake the redevelopment and implementation of the security consultancy for the Museum of Islamic Art (HOIA) in Qatar.

In 2005, Viridian Consulting was approached by a communications and security company in Dubai (as the successful bidder) to assist with the oversight of the supply and install of the electronic security systems for the MOIA project in Qatar. This role evolved from oversight to a re-design of the security technology and integration methodology to adapt the UK based consultants design into one suited to the Middle East. This involved the re-specification of the systems and technology, and driving the development of integration between the major system component manufacturers.

The project involved close liaison with the project Architects to ensure the security elements were integrated into the architecture in a non-obtrusive fashion, while providing the level of protection required of such a facility. This often required bespoke manufacture or modification of off the shelf security devices to ensure the architectural outcomes were met. The project covered all elements from the integration of physical security elements such as vehicle barriers, to tamper detecting plinths for the artwork to rest on.
